As we learned last Thursday, the new season of Top Chef is bringing the heat with an unprecedented twist: Eight chefs from previous seasons will return to compete against eight brand new cheftestants.
Now we’ve learned exactly who those past contenders are. The 14th cycle of the Bravo show, which premieres at 10 pm E.T. on Thursday, December 1, will see the return of Sam Talbot (Season 2: Los Angeles), Casey Thompson (Season 3: Miami & Season 8: All-Stars), Amanda Baumgarten (Season 7: Washington, D.C.), Brooke Williamson (Season 10: Seattle), Sheldon Simeon (Season 10: Seattle), John Tesar (Season 10: Seattle), Shirley Chung (Season 11: New Orleans), and Katsuji Tanabe (Season 12: Boston).
From the looks of the trailer above, it seems there will be no shortage of drama and tears, in addition to the usual intense culinary challenges.
If remembering reality show contestant names are not your strong suit, scroll below to see the returning familiar faces.

The past conestants will go head-to-head with the following new chefs: Annie Pettry (Louisville, KY), BJ Smith (Portland, OR), Emily Hahn (Charleston, SC), Gerald Sombright (Marco Island, FL) Jamie Lynch(Charlotte, NC), Jim Smith (Montgomery, AL), Silvia Barban (Brooklyn, NY), and Sylva Senat (Philadelphia, PA).
Now that this mystery has been revealed, only one question remains: Since the season is set in Charleston, will we get the Southern Charm crossover that we deserve? Don’t let us down, Bravo. Kathryn Dennis’ culinary voice needs to be heard.
